About

ZOE THOMAS | PHOTOGRAPHER | STORYTELLER
First of all, a big warm hello! I’m so glad you’re here.

As with all new friendships, I believe there’s nothing better than sitting down with a cuppa to spark the first of many conversations to come.

I’m a Toowoomba-based photographer with a love for Pilates, good books and a cup of tea – occasionally a gin. A farm kid at heart, I grew up on a mixed cropping property in Zimbabwe, Africa. Since moving to Australia, I’ve been lucky enough to explore a wide patch of regional country. From Mareeba in far north Queensland to Forbes in the central west of New South Wales.

A writer by trade, I’ve been fortunate to work throughout Queensland sharing stories of local regions and communities. From the central and north-west, through to the Southern Downs and the tropics. I’m a huge advocate for regional Australia and am continually inspired by the resilience, adaptability and quiet strength of those who live and work on the land.

On my first day as a cadet journalist, a camera was placed in my hands and I haven’t looked back since. I now find so much joy in documenting rural life, events, brands and the people who call these regions home. Telling stories through imagery feels like a natural extension of the work I’ve always loved.

I’d describe my style as warm, simple, and most importantly, real.

If you feel I might be the right fit for your photography needs, I’d love to hear from you.
